When I decided to take a vacation, there was a lot of planning that needed to be done first to make sure that my coffee making products were available. These were a number of things that needed to be considered: blogs, articles, keeping the store up to date, processing orders, social bookmarking and URL links.
Daily blogs about coffee making products were written ahead of time and put into my blog post. It was also a good idea to put them in beyond your time away in case of any time constraints later. My blogs also needed to remain informative and well written. Following a theme of blogs posts seems to make my readers happy; at least that has been there comments. Themes may be about products from the same company or about a product from a number of different companies.
Articles also needed to be written ahead of time on coffee making products. They, too, needed to be well written and be informative. If it is about a specific product or about a product from different companies they need to convey a clear message. Articles and blogs are an excellent way to let people know that I am knowledgeable about the products I have and can answer any question related to any product or companies whose products I sell.
Keeping my store up to date is always full of surprises. A supplier dropped the Delonghi product line while on vacation. A line may also have been added as well. Decisions about what to do about it need to be addressed immediately. Prices on my coffee making products and decisions on sales need to be addressed ahead of time so that changing them could be done quickly. This allowed more time for my vacation.
Receiving orders remained a daily responsibility. Choosing the time to check your e-mail or site records ended up being variable. However, checking it twice a day was best. Processing an order for a coffee maker or espresso machine to your supplier is another thing to watch. I was in another time zone that changed the time to contact my supplier for an ordered product. Once the product has been acknowledged by the supplier a response to the buyer of a product needed to be sent with a notice and a thank you for their order. When I received a notice of the tracking of the purchased product, I forwarded it to the buyer. This shows the buyer I care about them and the purchase that they made.
When I did social book marking and links to different URLs the material for these needed to be ready to copy and past. Different information is needed for each place and one needs to have all the necessary information to save time.
These may not cover all the things that others are doing daily or weekly with their site, but it does cover some of what I do. Many considerations need to be taken before taking a vacation that allows it to be a vacation.
