subject: Mass Negativity In The United States [print this page] Mass Negativity In The United States Mass Negativity In The United States
I'm Dan Polimino with coloradodreamhouse.com and this week's market update for the first week of November in Denver, Colorado. What are we talking about this week; Negativity. Alright, I don't know of this is what's going on in you neck at the woods, but it's certainly happening here in Colorado.
Lately, we're taking out buyers that look at homes and the whole time they are just basically picking apart and tearing apart each home. They are finding all of the negatives and when they get in the car, when they get back home they almost breathe a sigh of relief because they've come up with a solid ten reasons not to buy that home, or a home at all.
And I ask the question among my friends and fellow realtors, "When did that change? When did that shift?" Because there was a time where people went out --buyers --and they were excited about buying a home. They were positive about buying a home. They would look at homes and find all the positives. They would come up with reasons to buy a home.
Today, they spend all of their time coming up with reasons not to buy a home, and I ask the question "Why? What's changed?" And I think the best answer came from my friend Craig. He said, "My friend, for the last two years, the United States us fully entrenched in mass negativity. It's everywhere and it's about everything. Any topic, it is negative." And I thought about that statement for a while and I realized hes right. We are sunk knee-deep of negativity. Were negative about just about everything. And if were going to turn this around and get out of this funk, we need to change our attitude. We need to start certainly in the real estate market, finding reasons to buy a house, being positive about buying a house, looking for the positives in that house. Otherwise, we're not going to sell property. I think you get the drift.
