Huther Advertising in selecting a web designer

In selecting who will do your web site you must consider several factors. The first is find a reputable and experienced designer who can provide references and web sites they have currently designed. Ask questions of their experience and knowledge of the ever changing technology and how they will go about creating the web site. We use HTML from scratch and use no templates or preset style sheets. John Huther states,"I feel by using preset style sheets, we are limited on the look and feel of the web site. Some clients fit that mold but some do not and we tend to judge each one as they come in. If scripting is needed, we will lean towards using php and Flash for the graphics when needed to create a non stagnant, exciting web image.

Next , make sure you have a game plan. "We start a client out by examining their business and competitors to find what is needed. From e-commerce to a blog, we work through to find what will help the client the best. We then set an agreeable contract and timeline to have the layouts produced and then when the web site would actually go live," stated Huther.

"I tell customers that selecting a web designer is like selecting a photographer to take your pictures. You need to look at their style and team that with their knowledge to make a good decision as to who can create a unique, well functioning web site that is search engine friendly. Those three qualities are what we strive for every web site we design," said Huther.

The agency should also be able to give you guidance on other parts of the puzzle such as web hosting, e-mail and your domain names. "I always try to help the client as much as possible with hosting, e-mail and their domain names. I've had encountered difficulties in the process when we could not "free" up the domain from a company that tries to hold on to the domain name or copyright their usage of their past website. That is something we do not do because we feel the client purchases this right when they purchase the web site and we make it clear what is theirs," stated Huther.

Huther Advertising LLC has been in business for over 20 years. Located in Clinton, NY where John Huther recalled his grand father owned and ran a successful meat market called "Eds Meats" in the 1950s.
