MLM lead generation is a tough thing at first for a lot of marketers, unless you have a big marketing budget for some ads you'll need to rely on free strategies and article marketing is an awesome long-term strategy to start with. But if it's not done correctly you can end up frustrated with no leads and wasted time. Here are 7 key factors for a successful article marketing campaign.
1) At first, write your own content. There isn't anything wrong with having ghost writers or using PLR articles but you still need content that is exclusive to you. Don't sell yourself short, you can only get so far using other people's stuff.
2) Effective keyword research. There are lots of ways to do this but it's easy and can be done successfully with a couple of free tools, both from google. Make sure to find something with relatively low competition that actually gets searches on it. Use google's free external keyword tool and then put quotes around your search term in the actual searchbar to get these statistics. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, hit me up on facebook.
3) Write about what you know, inject your passion for something into your writing. It shows, and your readers will notice when you don't know what you're talking about. There's nothing worse than reading an article by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. If you feel like you are senselessly rambling in your writing, you probably are. Get to the point quickly.
4) Don't over-explain, my reason for this is personal. My wife reads all of my content and she is a very analytical person. At first I used to get mad, but now I figure, if she has a problem with it then you guys might too. Go figure.
5) Re-read before you post, it used to be that you could put anything up with a bunch of keywords and it would get ranked well and you would get leads, not anymore. You need to accept that there are a lot of people out there doing the exact same thing that you are so you need to be on top of your game. Grammatical and spelling errors are a sure-fire way to lose intelligent prospects. I'm not knocking bad spellers, just use spell check, that's all.
6) Post on your own site first, this is important. If you don't have your own website make a squidoo lens or a hub page or post first to your favorite article submission site. Posting on one site first allows for back-linking. It's like having your favorite place in the world with a bunch of different ways to get there.
7) Spin and syndicate. This is easy too, just take your article and re-write a couple of paragraphs a couple different ways and submit them to as many sites as you can all pointing back to your original piece of content!
With all of these steps in regular practice you'll be getting leads in no time and it's all free.
