Grants For Dads - A New Bill For A New Era

Are you a single father who is eager to return back to school and earn a degree? Are you working yourself out at low paying jobs because you don't have a high school degree? Well, if you are one of those, you don't have to worry any more as now there are federal grants for dads to help them get back to school and earn their degrees without even paying a Diem.

Thanks to Obama's new Federal Pell Grant, single fathers can now be eligible for receiving federal educational funds. Even single teenage fathers can qualify for receiving such funds. The newly legislated bill has boosted the sums of federal funds offered to an eligible single father to 5100 dollars per educational semester. Low income single dads can receive up to 10000 dollars worth of scholarship money per year. The funding is expected to increase to more than 5300 dollars by the end of the year 2010.

The new legislation is now channeling the Federal Pell Grant to pay the expenses of educational programs whether they are on-campus or online learning courses. The newly boosted federal scholarships for dads can now pay the expenses of study-from-home online educational courses. The federal funds would be used to pay for school fees, training courses, online tutoring fees and even internet connection bills in some instances.

In order to qualify for dad scholarships, you must firstly fill a free application for federal student aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA examines the eligibility of applicants and serves to direct eligible to students to schools and colleges that participate in the federal student aid program. The application can be easily filled and filed online. The FAFSA require presenting some documents such as your social security number, your tax records, your monthly paycheck and your reports of untaxed incomes such as child support funds and worker's compensation. Take care to fill your FAFSA application and file it before the first of January of each year; however, each state and school might have their own schedules for acceptance of applications, so don't forget to ask about the schedule of your preferred school.

President's Obama new Federal Pell Grant has focused on creating more opportunities for single parents who are burdened with the responsibilities and challenges of supporting their families by themselves. Grants for dads are now available and could provide means for single dads to earn their degrees and seize better paying career opportunities.
