The mall

The Mall is the chief shopping hub of the beautiful hill station, Shimla. It has wide range of restaurants, clubs, bars and tourist offices. People move about up and down the Mall leisurely and unhurriedly, meeting and chitchatting with people, as it is the key meeting place for one and all. The Ridge and Scandal point is the two chief where people love to stand and discuss at the Mall.

Jakhu Hill

Jakhu Hill which is barely 2 km from Shimla and is at an altitude of 8000 ft. Jakhu Hill is the uppermost peak and provides a fine-looking sight of the city and of the snow-clad Himalayas. At the apex of the Hill, is an old shrine of Hanuman, where dwells several monkeys who are actually waiting for the tourists to feed them.

Shimla State Museum

The Shimla State Museum, which came into existence in 1974, has made an effort to display the artistic and traditional wealth of the state. There is a compilation of small Pahari paintings, figures, bronzes wood-carvings and also dresses and jeweler of the area.

Annandale

Build up as the playing field of Shimla, Annandale is approximately 3 km from the Ridge and is an altitude of 6,117 ft. It is a much loved place for cricket, picnics and the royal and stately game of polo.

Tara Devi

Just about 10 km from the Shimla bus-stand, Tara Devi has a temple devoted to the goddess of stars on summit of the hill. The headquarters of Bharat Scouts and Guides is also present here. At the height of 6,070 ft, Tara Devi is an idyllic and ultimate place for a person hunting for tranquility and some silence.

Kufri

Just16 km from Shimla at an altitude of 8,600 ft above sea level, Kufri is the winter sports capital. At the time of winter, tourists take pleasure in Skiing over here. The skiing season is at the peak in the months of January and February. Gears for skiing are obtainable from HPTDC winter sports club at Kufri. In addition to skiing, Kufri is an attractive picnic destination with a gorgeous sight of the hills around and the snowy peaks. There is a zoo that gives happiness and joy to children.

Fagu

Just about 6 km from Kufri, Fagu is an exclusive point with picturesque sights of the ranges and valleys. Charmingly sited in the middle of the forests and orchards, Fagu has a guest house and tourist bungalow facing the Giri Valley.
