Meanwhile, you've forgotten the groom's name and the 'quiet affair in the South of France with a few family friends' has suddenly turned into a Disneyland Spectacular complete with Cinderella Style Horse Drawn Carriage and twenty seven beautiful and expensive to dress bridesmaids.

1. If you're newly engaged and haven't planned your special day from the age of eight, get a notebook for recording any thoughts or ideas for your special day. This can contain everything from your thoughts on your dress, location, how you'd like your wedding shots, names and numbers of suppliers, honey moon arrangements to who's doing what at the ceremony. This is a great place to keep track of your thoughts and wishes for the day before turning them into reality.
