While they will be more pure than most fish oils, quality ones will have been molecularly distilled to leave them just as pure and some premium fish supplements also have added antioxidants like lycopene and astaxanthin in higher quantities than the krill.

These antioxidants help to reverse skin aging and the effects of sun damage and also help to fight the free radicals that damage your healthy cells and lead to premature aging and disease.

Sustainability is something close to my heart and it is sad to see that the overfishing of omega 3 krill oil is already having an impact on marine life. This tiny crustacean is the staple diet of many species including whales and in areas where it is fished, the numbers of many marine animals is declining.

As the oil from fish is a by-product, it has a zero impact on their sustainability.

In conclusion, there really is no reason to use omega 3 krill oil as you will receive far, far more health benefits from a good fish supplement and also help to protect the marine life.
