OWN- Oprah Winfrey's Network cable tv channel reveals 5 new episodes

New Years' Eve this year will be especially celebratory for Oprah fans. They will get ready for the Jan. 1 launch of Oprah Winfrey Network, Winfrey's brand new cable television channel which will feature the hugely common daytime host in prime time.

Oprah unveiled five new original series Thursday during the channel's display to promoters in New York City. The new shows are in addition to 10 series that were previously introduced.

"My vision for Own would be to create a network that inspires our audiences and makes them want to be who they're on their very best day," Winfrey mentioned.

The highlight from the programming slate is clearly "Oprah's Next Chapter," an one-hour show that the OWN said would showcase Winfrey as she conducted "riveting conversations" in different locations around the globe ranging from "her beloved oak tree" to the Taj Mahal.

Another show the cable network has high hopes for is "Visionaries: Inside the Creative Mind." One of the personalities scheduled to appear are director James Cameron, musician Lady Gaga and professional photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Additional shows are "Your Own Show: Oprah's Search for the Next TV Celebrity," from reality show mogul Mark Burnett, in which contestants compete for that possiblity to host their own show; "Why Not? With Shania Twain," showcasing the country singer's life right after her unpleasant divorce; and "Gayle King Live," a televised version of the radio talk show hosted by Winfrey's very best friend.

In November, Winfrey announced she'd be departing her show for good in Sept 2011 -- a move, several experts believe, that may signal the start of the end for the day time widely distributed talk show, commonplace in television for nearly four decades.

Formerly announced shows on the network include "Oprah Presents: Master Class," by which Winfrey chooses a well known celebrity to offer life lessons; women prison show titled "Breaking Down the Bars"; "Enough Already" with de-cluttering professional Peter Walsh; the sex and relationship series "In The Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman"; and "The Miracle Detectives," in which a skeptic and a believer are face off in opposition to each other in their exploration of "an wonderful event."
