I often speak to racing fans who are looking for sure winners at Fairplex Park, and of course that is what we would all like to find, but the reality is that there are no sure things in any given race. The way that you can make money at the races is to win consistently over a period of time with full knowledge that you will not win each and every wager. You will lose some races, but you will win often enough to come out ahead of the game if you implement sound handicapping strategies. If you want to give yourself a solid chance to win more than you lose, understanding pari-mutuel wagering is essential. There are many exotic wagers that can yield high returns, and the superfecta is one of them. When I am asked how to win with a superfecta I usually recommend keying the horse that you think is going to win on top of the ticket and playing three or four horses underneath that can finish in any order as long as they comprise the second through fourth finishers. If you hit just one or two superfectas a day, you will be making money and steadily growing your bankroll. You need to know your options when you bet the races at Fairplex Park, and if you take advantage of the exotic wagers that are available to you, there is a lot of money to be made. Collecting just a small percentage of the time can still be profitable if your wins are significant. The superfecta in last year's Kentucky Derby paid out $278,503.20, and that would certainly offset quite a few losing wagers.
