Biometric attendance system for keeping track of its employees

Attendance system

Highly placed sources at the Secretariat informed this daily that two reputed companies Computech and Essel -- recently made a presentation at the Secretariat as regards supply of the required machines.

"The Secretariat presently has around 700 employees and the impressions of their thumb would be taken for the purpose," the sources informed, pointing out that these staff members will have to hold their thumb on the machine, while entering and leaving the Secretariat.

The fingerprint attendance system time clock and recorder will be used as a business clocking in/ out system for the Secretariat employees. This digital fingerprint terminal records the attendance data of employees based on their registered fingerprints. A biometric time management system is expected to ensure that the Secretariat gets an accurate record of employee attendance.

The purpose of the device is to help employers and employees more easily record daily time worked. This fingerprint time attendance device is further expected to help the Secretariat to manage attendance records more easily while allowing for hourly and contract workers, if any to more quickly punch in/ punch out, thus making ID card system redundant.

The system also comes with a software, which will allow the Secretariat to view employee attendance records, create different work-time shifts, set holidays, automatically create multiple attendance reports based on the query, set alarms for anomalous data, export the records to Excel, and much more.

Speaking further, the Secretariat sources said that such system is being used by the Industrial Development Corporation and Economic Development Corporation.

"We will select one of the two companies for providing and installing the equipments," the sources noted, pointing out that the system will be in place at the Secretariat by May-end.
