The Mahanubhav Vadhu Var Parichay Sammelan, a very popular Mahanubhav legacy programme has seen a lot of activity this year. A number of the sammelans were held very successfully with good participation and great enthusiasm.
On 07th February 2009 and 14th February 2009, two Parichay Sammelans were organized for the Educated candidates from the Mahanubhaavvivah.com. 145 and 130 candidates attended the Sammelan on the above respective dates. During the Sammelan the candidates vocalized their appreciation of the Sammelans as they provided an opportunity to them to express themselves and thereby find the right match according to their preference.
On 14th Feb 2009 another Parichay Sammelan was organized for the Educated candidates from the Mahanubhav community in which 111 candidates participated. This sammelan was quite an eyeopener for the participants as the educational profile of the girl candidates was much higher and therefore their expectations in terms of educational background of their future spouse was higher.
On 21st March 2009 Parichay Sammelan was organized for Educated candidates from the 75 candidates participated. The low participation was attributed to very low presence in this area, because of which the community constantly experiences challenges in finding the right match from within the community. Very often this leads to the prospective candidate to find a life partner from outside the community. The Parichay Sammelan provides the opportunity to interact with various candidates under one roof.
On 28th Feb 2009, a Parichay Sammelan was organized for the Widows, Widowers, the Physically Disabled & the unmarried above 30 years belonging to the Jain community. A total of 137 candidates participated. This Parichay Sammelan is generally known as the Re-marriage Parichay Sammelan and was attended by the candidates only from above mentioned category. This Parichay Sammelan helps address one of the biggest areas of concern because little, if at all, attention is paid to this group of candidates.
On 7th March 2009, a Parichay Sammelan was held for the Highly Educated candidates from the Mahanubhav community. 138 candidates participated in the Sammelan. As before , the number of girl candidates were much more, almost twice those of the boy candidates. This was attributed to the girls being better qualified and thereby not meeting their match on the level of education. Boys within the community give up education early to lend a hand in the family business while the girls continue to study until married. From the expectations expressed at the Sammelan, it appeared that the girl candidates want:
1 A husband well settled in a job rather than a business as that gives greater financial security.
2. That they would like to marry a boy with equal, if not better qualifications.
