Exclusive Motorola Droid X preview

Not interested in waiting until 23 to the announcement of major Verizon? Do not worry, we got you ! Motorola Droid X was probably one of the worst kept secrets in the smartphone in recent memory, but after spending two hours on the phone, we kind of see why. In short, its pretty impressive. Call it a phone or a super mega-smartphone, but the combination of 4.4 inches is absolutely Verizon / Motorola HTC response EVO 4G, and it is Incredible Droid look like a bench warmer. What do we do? We let you see for yourself just after the break by a breakdown of exactly what this phone is all about - and in a video or three of him in action.

Hardware: From a distance, Droid X appears to be the EVO 4G, but up close the differences are obvious. The phone is slightly longer and wider, and has four physical buttons on the bottom of the screen rather than touch-sensitive as their EVO. Hand, the phone feels really solid and we were surprised how light it felt, even if we could really do without the hump on his back. And yes, the great thing about Jean is in your pocket, but not without a bit crowded.

Display: Apparently Droid X is a 4.4-inch, 854 x 480 resolution display FWVGA, but we can confirm that the device itself. Regardless, it was a super-sharp screen and capacitive touch response was wonderful and multitouch gestures. Our only concern is the mirror image cut around the screen - makes the entire surface of the phone, a gloss.

Motorola Blur / Android: It was confirmed that the droid is running Android X 2.1 with a new type of MOTOBLUR (perhaps Ninjablur) of the skin. Blur not have to configure our social networks and contacts, but it would not in your face than the original. There is also a new navigation bar at the bottom that allows you to go to different parts of Android. We can not make a call on how we feel about this new skin Moto, but it feels like a major improvement and has absolutely no slow down performance. It is also worth mentioning that the phone is loaded in a Blockbuster application and an application based on DLNA. These two elements combined with the fact that there is a dock available HDMI think separating the media is the focus here.

Camera / Camcorder: The X-Droid is an 8 megapixel camera and video recording 720p. But hers the thing about the device: you must press to focus and not focus until you click on the image. In addition, the camera button on the phone super stiff, so when we went to shoot a peak shaken and blurred image. You can see what we are talking in the gallery below. As for video recording, it was a little train while we filmed in 720p, but the video plays well and in our opinion, and sharper than EVO 4G. But as you can see the clip below, the white balance is constantly changing and the range of exposure.

Performance: Snappy! That's exactly what the Droid X is. The entire phone and transitions were super fast and responsive, keyboards popped up with virtually no lag and it tracks finger swiping more accurately than most Android phones we've seen -- it undoubtedly has its 1GHz ARMv7 processor (presumably an OMAP3630) to thank for that. If the specs on the model we saw are correct, the phone will come with 8GB of storage space. Obviously, we didn't have enough time to test battery life, but there was some sort of special battery management software on the phone.
