Antivirus Programs - Don't Get Caught Without One

Nearly all of us rely upon our computers these days.

We rely on them for many different things, such as work, personal finance and various different forms of digital entertainment.

You may use your own PC for one or more of those tasks and, whichever they are, it is vital that you keep your machine protected.

From talking to my numerous security contacts on Twitter it would I have learned that there are a huge number of threats being discovered all the time, including a couple of thousand new viruses each and every day!!

These viruses can get onto your computer in many different ways - from websites, on USB sticks, via email, etc.

The best way to avoid all these viruses is to have a good antivirus program installed.

If you are looking for a good antivirus program then it is easy to get confused as there are so many out there and each offers something different.

Some antivirus programs are free, some you have to pay for and others are fake and just as bad as the viruses they promise to protect you from.

How, then, do you pick the right one?

Well, I've put in several hours of testing all the latest antivirus programs on my blog and I've written detailed reviews of each.

My conclusion from all that is that the free programs are of variable quality but may well suffice for casual users, whilst those who use theinternetfor any amount of time would probably be better off with a paid-for antivirus program, such asESET Nod 32 Antivirus 4.

At around $40 it won't break the bank but it will offer you tip top protection and, therefore, peace of mind.

If you prefer another brand of antivirus program thenthatsfine but please do yourself a favour and make sure that you do install one as soon as possible - getting a virus on your computer is no fun and removing one is a hassle you really don't need.
