I must admit that in my purchases of electronics most of my life - This TV is the best value of the bar! 4 years ago I bought the state of the art LCD TV Samsung 32 "was big at this time - but only recently has been replaced with this model. You'll be surprised - my old favorite DVD Predator, Aliens, etc. .. looks impressive its unreal. The video is as good as pre-production, because it seems so real. And 'a completely different view. You can relive your favorite DVDs in a realistic way, I have an Epson projector and just do not feel like TV. This TV is very clear - with incredible color and sharpness. are my observations of others - but frankly I have to say you can not go wrong with this TV. For me, it's just magic - it can be better visual quality at this price! stuff!

Great Set...Great Price
Being the early adopter, I looked into the 3-D Samsungs and the LED Samsungs. I made a personal decision that while 3D has a "cool" factor, it was still awkward, expensive, and potentially a gimmick that won't be around for too long. The LED's were twice the price of the LN55C650 (paid $1,400) and offered a worse viewing angle and uneven side backlighting, despite having better black details and overall contrast.
I am completely satisfied with this set. It looks amazing, has ethernet and wireless connectivity options (I use ethernet because it's available to me, and faster), great networking capabilities for streaming movies, music, and photos from my various computers. Additional media through USB drives and direct camera hookups (except Canon SLRs!) make this a versatile package, and did I mention only $1,400!! I used the extra money to by a 7.1 home theater system to complete the living room.
I highly recommend this set to anyone looking to upgrade from a 720p/1080i set or gasp! a CRT.
Great set, bad PIP
Samsung is still behind Sony in use and funtionality. The TV works very well but Samsung engineers made some mistakes. The inablity to not connect a keyboard is a huge issue with the overall ease of use with the internet/web based applications. Another quarky issue i noticed right off the bat is with the "PIP" picture in picture option. I bought this tv on the premise the pip would be fully functional. I've used many sets over the years, basially all sony's and they got the pip right on the mark. Samsung however has opted to only allow the sub picture to use the cable/air input which doesn't permit you to source any of the hdmi/component devices to it. This blunder is a waste of the pip option. The Coax input will basically be outdated in 2 years which will make the pip feature obsolete on this set. If you want to get a set with pip you're going to have to look else where as all samsung TVs are made this way.

The TV is crisp clear and the sound is the best I have ever heard from a flat screen TV. I really like the swivel base. It makes it easy to adjust the angle, which I do because I watch it from the kitchen and the living room.
