A recent study is published in the Journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention that says eating a wide variety of fruit and veg every day can slash the risk of developing lung cancer by a quarter.
Smokers in perticular can cut their risk but the variety they eat is just as important as the quantity . Those eating 8 or more differant types of fruit and veg can reduce their chances of developing epidermoid carcinoma of the lung by up to 23%.
At least eight types a day is key and more benifical than eating only four a day say the study compiled by 10 leading cancer research centers across Europe.
