The country is 5826444 km2. The equator divides the country almost in to two equal halves. Many places of interest are located not very far away from each other. It is possible for one to visit all these places at a single trip with adequate planning and bugdeting. Circuits have been formed that enable the tourists to visit the country with alot of ease. These are the sourthern circuit which covers the Tsave and Ambposeli. The central and northeastern circuit covering the aberdares, Mt. Kenya, Meru and Samburu.
The central and north western circuit covers the aberdares Mt. Kenya, Samburu, Lake Baringo and Bogoria. The western circuit covers Lake NAKURU,Lake Naivasha, MasaaiMara, Kisumu and Kakamega. Some of these places can be combined into one safari expedition depending on the budget available. For safaris ranging betweena day or two, the Tsavo east and west, amboseli and shimba hills are ideal locations because they are near each other.
For a first time visitor, Kenya is within East Africa. It has a coastline that covers approximately 700km. Its capital city is Nairobi and the official language spoken is English though the most often used language is Kiswahili. The weather patterns are not extreme. It has a trpocalclimate with two rainy seasons. These are the long rains that take place between March and June and short rains that are between October and November. Rains usually fall in the afternoons and do not last for lond. They are preceded by sunny intervals. Sometimes, the rains can be accopmanied by thunders and lightings.
