The Kenya Wildlife

Kenya has a tropical climate. It receives sunshine almost all year round. The coldest months are between June and August. Summer clothes are worn all year round for the country is not that cold. The warmest areas are near the coast and around Lake Victoria. The central part of Kenya is the coldest as it is a highland. It is also the most fertile place receiving adequate rainfall to cater for the countries food needs. Between March and June, the country receives lots of rainfall and the short rains are received in October and November going through to December.

Due to the conducive environment and climate, Kenya is home to many species of animals and birds. These are normally found in the savanna grasslands of the country. The Masaai Mara is one great home for Kenyan wildlife. There is a considerable number of game parks and game reserves. The Kenyan government is doing all that it can to preserve its wildlife heritage. This was being threatened by poachers and human encroachment in to forests therefore driving the animals away.

Due to the diverse species of animals found in this country, Kenya is a tourist hub. They come to see the great five. These are the Lion, The leopard, the rhinoceros, the buffalo and the elephant. The lion is known as the King of the jungle and it is the favorite of the big five. The wildebeest migration that takes place in the months of June and September has now become the 8th world wonder. This attracts people all over the world.
