Mo Abudu was just 11 when she lost her father. She had to shift to Nigeria to stay with her grandparents and had to go through a culture clash from which she recovered expertly and got adapted to African culture in that young age. After completing her schooling from Fiwasaye Girls grammar School she went to West Kent College MidKent College. She got her master degree in HR Management from the University of Westminster. She is also a member of the British Psychological Society.
Mo Abudu started her professional carrier in 1987 as a recruitment consultant in Atlas Recruitment consultancy and within a very small period became the branch manager. Then she was handpicked by Starform Group, a very prestigious firm and she successfully managed the Corporate Credit Management Exhibition From 1990 till 1992. She was then recruited by Arthur Andersen as the head of the human resources and training unit of Exxon. By the year 2000, she resigned from Exxon and started her own firm namely Vic Lawrence & associates Limited or VLA by taking advantage of her enormous reputation as a HR specialist to train the motivated pool of talents to take Nigeria's business forward. Her another feat is conceptualising and building The Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park in Lagos in August of 2000. The Protea Hotel consists of a very modern training and conference rooms along with first class accommodation and recreational facilities. She also anchored a talk show named moments with mo which was the first of its kind to air on African regional television. The show is based on different topics like politics, lifestyle, entertainment, music etc. She is also the creator of another show named The Debaters which is an innovative, entertaining, highly intellectual TV show. Mo Abudu is also the founder of The Inspire Africa firm which focuses on improving the people's lives in Africa.
