How do you feel about your kitchen? Growing up, a lot of people's memories focus around their kitchen, a place where families meet to eat, or you can grab a coffee and chat to your mum.
So if you have just moved into your house and your kitchen feel s more like the garage, then you have to do something about it. Whether your cupboards open the wrong way, or there isn't enough storage to house the food for a family of four, plan a redesign.
Think about the purpose - do you want it to just be a place to cook, or will you have your dining area in here too?
Take stock of what you have and haven't got - If the flooring is suitable, or the design is how you like it, you can work with what you have rather than pulling it all out and starting again. We tend to copy the layout that we grew up with, but think about this sensibly. Your mum may have had her pans next to her cups, but is this the most clever way to store things for you?
Pay attention to detail if you can't afford a massive redesign, there will be things you can do that seem minor but will lift the whole feel of the room. Why not try to change the handles on the cupboards, or give the walls a fresh lick of paint in a new colour.
