1. A passion for travel
I have always wanted to experience the world and live in a non English speaking country. TEFL seems like a perfect opportunity to do this while meeting new people, teaching, and enjoying life! Stephen Kiernan

4. Escape from the current economic climate
I decided to TEFL because the job prospects in the UK are very poor. I have been disillusioned with the UK for a number of years. I have completed a 6 month teaching contract in China and I am returning to become the foreign manager in a different city with the same school. The experience has been fantastic and will no doubt help me secure my next position overseas. My only regret is that I didn't do this when I was younger. Stephen Underdown
I was sick to the eye teeth looking for work and getting turned down due to one thing or another, so I decided to give a TEFL course a go. I'm currently doing an 60hr online course to top up my 20hr classroom course. John Doyle
5. The chance to make a difference
I wanted to make a difference. I am fortunate, I speak fluent English, and something I take for granted. I enjoy teaching and it's something I can share with other people who want to learn. Claire Lawton

6. A new challenge

7. Boredom!
Travelling is a passion of mine and I'm bored of living in such a cold, ugly and expensive country so teaching English happens to be the easiest way to keep travelling whilst simultaneously working.
