If you don't like the knot when you're finishing you can take the knot out and weave the ends in. Put the needle through the back of the loop on the other side a row up from the one you started on.
Make sure you come up from underneath the loop. Keep doing the stitch from one side to the other until the top of the section is reached. Always make sure you are coming up from underneath the loop and that you are only catching the back loop of the stitch.
The whip stitch is the most commonly used stitch to join your pieces together, however, you can use a slip stitch or single crochet. If you want an invisible seam you will have to use the predominant color of your pattern with the whip stitch. If you want a decorative seam you can use different joining techniques such as the single crochet and whip stitch, but be careful not to pull the stitches too tight. The yarn will not give and it might cause the work to ripple or pull, something you don't want to happen.
