Teenagers mostly see acne as another gross part of life. Knowing that we are not alone in our acne issues can help dealing them easier when we are teenagers, no matter how embarrassed we are by our "pizza faces". Puberty is supposed to be the worst of our acne years; by adulthood we're supposed to be mostly finished with it. It is partly because of this belief that so many adults are thrown for a loop when the random zit or pimple makes an appearance on their faces. Nothing makes us relive our teenage years like waking up to a face that has a few spots and bumps. What makes adult breakouts worse is how painful they can be. Here are some acne fighting tips that you can use no matter how old you might be.
Keep your hair off of your face.
The reason your hair should stay away from your face is that your scalp produces oil which gets transferred to your hair which can then clog your pores if your hair is in your face. Long hair or bangs are major culprits of clogged pores because the oil is so easily transferred from the scalp to your pores by your locks and bangs. Yes having long hair and bangs is fun, but preventing breakouts means keeping that long hair and those bangs off of your face. Use a headband to keep your hair back or pull it back into a braid or ponytail. Your face and skin will be so happy! Choose makeup that is easier on your skin, wear less of it or skip it altogether. Cut down on the number of products you cake on your face by buying a foundation and other types of makeup that have sunscreen in them. Consider choosing makeup that has had vitamins and nutrients added to it so that you are helping your skin when you put it on each morning instead of potentially damaging it. Do not run for the cheapest makeup available. Try not to smear on more makeup than you really need. You want to wear very little to no makeup. You can look great without caking on a bunch of extra makeup! Another important tip: make sure your makeup gets removed completely before you go to bed at night. Leaving it on overnight is almost guaranteed to cause breakouts and acne!
Have you thought about using natural products to help you fight your acne? Some people swear by treating zits with toothpaste. Once a zit or pimple is completely formed, squeeze some toothpaste onto it and leave it alone overnight. In the morning you will find that your pimple has shrunk quite a lot (this method is bad if you have pets who might be tempted to taste the toothpaste because doing that could make them ill). Some people insist that egg whites can also heal acne. You can either do spot treatment by putting some egg whites directly onto your pimples or you can use the egg whites to make a facial mask.
There are lots of ways to keep your skin clean and free of oil and acne. You might be able to get by with only washing your face a couple of times each day. Others use heavy handed oil and acne zappers. Other people choose to keep acne away with healthy foods, natural products and regular exercising. Take your time to experiment and figure out what works best for you. The idea behind acne fighting is to try each acne fighting method for a while before moving on.
It will take time for acne fighters to really work, so stick with each thing you try for at least a couple of weeks before you give up and go on to something else.
