The Long March
The Long March

In the revolutionary struggle of magnificent upsurge of Chinese people in 20th century, a great event happened, which has not existed before in world history. The event is just the Long March, the Long March of about 200,000 people, starting from the South and the Middle of China, passing through the Western China, where is sparsely populated and of difficult conditions, finally the two forces jointed each other successfully at the northwest of China. This great event has laid a firm foundation for the victory of revolutionary struggle in China.

Time in United States once evaluated the great event like"The success of the Long march in China, just as the discoverer Columbus of the New Continent, they are both the accomplishments that shocked the world."There were many moved stories during the Long March, though many years have passed, but some stories, when reading them today, we shall be deeply moved by them.

During the whole journey, there was a special group of people, who were wives of the leading comrades of the Central Committee, as well as women leaders and common women soldiers. Hunger, sickness, wood struggle and death, will never stop their processing steps. Those lovely and respected heroines worked together through the whole way, with no willing to retreat.

One early night in April at 1935, when women soldiers went back their encampment at Wulipai, Guizhou Provice, tired and exhausted. An unexpected thing happened, a group of enemy airplanes suddenly came from the back of the mountain, among them, one of the airplanes came those soldiers with a very steep dive. The airplane came directly to the single mount burdening a lot of the wounded. In order to save those wounds, He Zizhen, who originally hidden in one earth steps, ignoring the safety of her own, came out for the single mount. At this moment, once bomb came from the enemy airplane, and a trail of smog and dust emerged beside He Zizhen. After fierce and serious rescue, the doctor had saved her successfully, but a shell splinter embedded into her body would become the forever "gift" the struggle presented.

During the whole Long March, Chinese Red Army had passed more 10 provinces, not only did they have to struggle with the enemies, but also they had to establish a good relationship with the minority, in order to get their support. Due to some slanders from the National Party, some minorities have misunderstanding about Red Army. When they arrived in Sichuan Province, the Yi minority never allowed they to pass through, a big group of strong young men stood at the mountain with their weapons, intending to stop the army. Liu Bocheng, as the leader of Red Army, insisted that he had to solve the problem in a friendly way, so he required that they have coalition with Yi minority and fight against bandits together. Such a good policy was warmly welcomed by the people, without any disagreement, the coalition had established immediately. What's more, the good relationship has kept still now.

The above are just two common stories. A lot of other storied, appealing and attractive, are still waiting for reading and learning about. When I was 21-year old, I travelled China alone, just my bag(http://www.dinodirect.com/womens-backpacks-bookbags/ ) companied me. Though I am a girl from United States, but I have plenty of interests in Chinese culture while I have nerve heard such stories before, I just luckily got these stories from the local people orally at this journey. I think I should tell those stories about China to all the people in United States, later I will continue with this topic and tell as many stories about Red Army as possible.
