The Audi A5 is a large mid-size car produced by the German automobile manufacturer Audi since 2007. The Audi A5 which is the coup and cabriolet versions of the third generation Audi A6, and fourth generation Audi A4 saloon and estate models.

The Audi A5 was made out of aluminium to demonstrate the benefits of the aluminium Audi Space Frame concept but only as a prototype. It is based on Audi A5 Coupe 2.0 TFSI with 211PS engine, but uses the aluminium Audi Space Frame. With aluminium and carbon fibre-reinforced plastics body and punch riveting, bonding or laser-MIG hybrid welding, The Aluminium A5 is 110kg lighter than the equivalent steel-bodied production model.
