Knowing Different Constipation Symptoms

The interpretation of constipation is having a bowel activity 3 times a week or less and experiencing complication whilst doing so. In addition constipation symptoms will generally leave the sufferer feeling like they haven't finished.

There are four causes of constipation which are primary, secondary, irritable bowel syndrome and congenital.

Primary is the most widespread and is not life threatening and is generally caused by diets low in fibre, decreased physical activity, lack of fluid or medical side effects.

Secondary causes of constipation symptoms are normally through structural and functional abnormalities such as Parkinson's, pelvic floor dysfunction and colon cancer. other neurological diseases such as anismus, Hirschsprung's disease and descending perineum syndrome can cause constipation.

Irritable bowel syndrome causes constipation symptoms but also alternates with diarrhea. Irritable bowel syndrome affects around 15% of the adult society.

Congenital is a genetic defect that causes damage to the fetus/foetus and affects the structure of the organ system. It is frequently involved with the parents diet, vitamin intake and glucose levels.

Some other constipation symptoms are the cause of too little thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism) which increases calcium levels in the blood, intensified levels of estrogen and progesterone during a female's menstrual period or pregnancy.

It is also very common for people who suffer with back pain to also suffer with constipation and the symptoms are usually combined. Lower back pain caused by compressed nerves will effect constipation because the same nerves that oversee the lower back also oversee and regulate the intestines and how they function. With nerve related problems it normal that this is caused by a lack of oxygen to the related area.

Other complaints caused by the mergence of back pain and constipation symptoms are gas pains, bloating, indigestion, chronic diarrhea and a tender stomach. You may also suffer constipation symptoms if you have strained your back. This is because the lower back muscles effect the autonomic nerves responsible for bowel movements. Do remember that even if you clear up the pain in your back with pain killers you will still have the constipation, however, pain killers can also lead to consipation and stop you from having a bowel movement.

For a lot of folk constipation symptoms are just infrequent stools but for many others it means hard uncomfortable stools that are difficult to pass and leave them with a sense of incomplete emptying after the bowel movement.

Over 90% of society have a bowel movement between 3 and 21 times every week which is classed as entirely commonplace. Most humankind would like to think that regular is a bowel movement every day however this is only the case with around 50% of the population. As we mentioned before anything less than 3 times per week would be categorized as having constipation symptoms.

On the opposite end of the scale, citizens who do not have a bowel movement for two or three days does not necessarily mean discomfort for folk and there is no evidence that toxins build up or have any connection to cancer.

Other commonplace constipation symptoms are tiredness and irritability, anxiety, painful stabbing feelings in the stomach, bloated stomach, wind, and now and then hemorrhoids.
