No. No No No. That puts you in a very bad place psychologically.
So instead use two of the most powerful human drives:
* CURIOSITY
* SELF-INTEREST
Combine these two primal drives and you're getting somewhere.
Why not leave a message along the lines of: 'I've really appreciated my time with you, you've given me so much. I want to thank you personally for all you've done...'
Get my drift?
You should - of course - use your own words. You should work out what the heck you DO appreciate. You should decide where you're going with this before you get started.
In other words, this technique should be a part of a strategy.
