Caravans: the accessories of the season
Caravans: the accessories of the season

They may seem corny or something that your grandparents would own but caravans are becoming more and more popular says The Sunday Times. Some fashion magazines have already celebrated their retro charm and their nostalgic sensation, caravan clubs are continuously signing new members and are also expanding their facilities and operations. But why? What is the deal with caravans?

More people went on caravan trips in the UK than to Spain last year. This is an impressive number, as for more than a decade now, the Iberian Peninsula has been the leading holiday spot for the British. It may be the recession or simply childhood memories, but facts are facts and caravan bookings rose by 40% last December. What was once a holiday for the financially unfortunate is now the interest of high profile members such as Mark Owen from Take That and Kate Moss.

People may find them somehow unattractive but the truth is, there is no better way to have your family holiday than in a good old caravan. No more delayed flights, dirty hotels, lost baggage, terrorism paranoia. Caravans are what they are, comfortable and convenient. Their magnificent wonders can even, for some people, be way more than that. Leather sofas, Satellite dishes, high security locks and alarms are also available in some.

Another advantage regarding caravans was discussed by the auto gurus fromBBC, Top Gear. According to their crew, a caravan is not just a studio flat on wheels, it is also a business opportunity. As the price of caravans is not even close to the price of real-estate premises, caravans are a common sales tool to some businessmen. Now a days, entrepreneurs are not only selling ice cream on old, rusty caravans but also umbrellas and IT equipment. Those types stores can easily be seen operating in some cities on their highly attractive mobile establishments.

On the cultural aspect, caravans are also becoming a source of interest and fascination to some authors. Richard Hammondshared his experiences with caravans in his latest book " A Short History of Caravans" he will also be telling more about the advantages that caravans have and also how to even race them. Another book titled "Caravan Thieves" have also reached the shelves recently and have made quite an impact on the critics. Not on such a cultural aspect any more but on a celebrity aspect, Rio Ferdinand, the world's most expensive defender, has also devoted himself to the caravan wonders when he took his wife and kids on a holiday away from paparazzis in Israel.

The case has been made and by now if you're still not interested in even getting a ride on a caravan than maybe you are not that type of person but these magnificent inventions of the contemporary world are part of the heart of many and will stay there for good.Caravan rentalsare all over Britain and the best thing is that they are not expensive at all, so why not give it a chance, Kate Moss did
