I always had an interest in the internet and was keen to find out just how to make it pay for me. I did a lot of research and was aware that the easiest way to earn an income online was as an affiliate marketer. The role of an affiliate is to sell other peoples products or services, and in return you receive a percentage of the cost of the item which is called a commission.
I say 'sell' however that is really the wrong way to present affiliate marketing. Those who have tried it and never made any money online had tried to 'sell' products or services. The successful affiliate marketers have a much more profitable approach:
They will find a product that gives the information that folks will be searching for. Find where the people who want this information, service, or product are to be found. They find out what the common woes, or problems of the folks looking for this information Then as an affiliate you would offer some solutions and advice to the issues the problem causes Then state that more "solutions and info" can be found, and direct the folks who want that solution to a website that will supply that info through what is called "an affiliate link"
That affiliate link is unique to you and once the reader lands on the website and if they actually follow through and purchase the product or service, you as the affiliate who directed them there receive a percentage of the sales price. Anywhere from between 5% and 75% depending on the type of product purchased.
