Packaging? The sight wants its share
Packaging? The sight wants its share

After the final stadium of production of the object, we arrive to the preparation of the object itself for being sold: this is the packaging phase, after which the product will finally be ready to be distributed in the shops.

During the packaging phase industrial installations are used, with the purpose of making the goods more resistant to avoid damages during the transportation, due to hits, humidity and other causes. There are various types of packaging for the different kinds of goods, alimentary or not, fragile or not, needing to be vacuum-packed or not...the packaging industry is specialized in finding the best way to preserve any kind of goods, giving it the protection it needs to reach the shops at their best. The different types of packaging machines, from the vacuum-packaging machine to the vertical packager, keep into deep consideration the needs of every good, and consequently they follow the various phases of packaging: the primary one, that contains the product itself (like the bottles of water, for example). The secondary packaging keeps various primary packages together (like the packages that keep a certain number of water bottles together) and, finally, the tertiary packaging, that is to say the one that serves for the transportation.

The primary packaging, of course, must respond to the design needs of the object to be sold: the packaging is to be considered part of the object, not only a simple wrapping. Just think of the water bottles example, that have different forms and colours for every brand, and it is right forms and colours that characterize the product at first sight, making it recognizable by anyone. Other kinds of alimentary packaging as well are fundamental to recognize a product, thanks also to the different kinds of products used for one product or the other: glass or water bottles, packaging made of polyethylene or other materials suggested not only by convenience, but also by the effect wanted on the final consumer.

Hence, the choice of the packaging for a product is more and more important, because before actually trying it and decide if it's a good product or not, it needs to be chosen among many others; for the choice to fall on that precise product instead of another one, it must attract the attention someway. A colour, a shape...something that will help us to decide that it's worth a try even without knowing it, it's true that if we will not be satisfied we won't buy it again, but if we want to start from the point that it actually is a good product, then the consumer should choose it even without having the certainty that it is valid, and to do it, after all, among the other things it's important to remind that the sight as well wants its share.
