Internet Technology

Internet has moved on in leaps and bounds over the last ten years, from wi fi hotspots in cafes and public areas, to internet facilities on our mobile phones. But big players in the car industry are discussing the idea of making your car a wi fi zone. Very much like the idea of wireless internet and sat navs that are built into cars, the internet will feature on your dashboard, and make it easier for you to access maps, opening times and other useful information that you could need on your journey.

The news is likely to dismay safety lobbyists who already feel that there is far too much distraction for drivers already, but the technology is designed only to work when the car is not moving. The developers will initially allow people to surf the web and access Google browsers, but eventually will be able to connect to an offices VOIP, meaning that business drivers can access their office from their car.

Car companies are embracing this to appeal to the younger generations, who are immersed in life with the new generation of i-phones, where we are never far from access to the internet at any opportunity.

The idea behind this technology is that the wi fi will be able to run from your phone internet access. Comments have been made about the reliability of this feature, as the car goes in and out of areas with differing amounts of signal.

It seems that these ideas will be implemented in the cars of the future, but distracted driving causes accidents and will inflate the cost of your Car Insurance Quotes. When using any technology while in transit, make sure that you have pulled over wherever is safe to do so.
