Picking Bedroom Furniture For Your Kids
Picking Bedroom Furniture For Your Kids

You might think that picking bedroom furniture for your kids would be some of the easiest furniture you will ever have to choose. Picking the right living room suite can take many trips to several different furniture stores; time spent studying fabric swatches and deciding how much more you will have to redecorate your living room to match the new suite. After all of this, making the right choice for your kids' rooms should be easy, right? When your children are young it is very easy to be tempted to buy them those cute little themed beds like the Cars bed for boys and the Strawberry Shortcake bed for girls. When they are really young these beds will be perfect, but as quickly as they grow, they will soon grow out of these beds. Instead you should be thinking several years ahead and perhaps settle instead for a good solid bed with a bookcase headboard. You can always buy them sheets and comforters to go with their bedroom furniture to create the theme they are begging you for. While there is certainly nothing wrong with buying themed furniture, it would be much better if you decided that it was time to replace their furniture as they get older rather than having no choice because they have outgrown it. At least when you buy a standard single bed, it should be more than big enough to last well into their teenage years and only need a replacement mattress perhaps once in its life. You might not think that kids need to have a very supportive mattress. Your family doctor or chiropractor would tell you the opposite is true. You may not want to spend a fortune on your kids' bedroom furniture, but you will be doing them a huge favor if you put the money into a good mattress to go with a nice solid pine frame that you can paint every time their tastes change.
