In his WWE debut in 1999, the wrestler proclaimed he was the mysterious Y2J millennium countdown. Whether he's been loved or hated by WWE fans, Jericho has never been at a loss for words. He defiantly has backed up every single word that has come from his mouth by winning plenty of championships.
"Y2J," the son of former National Hockey League player Ted Irvine, was born in Manhasset, New York, but was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada. The wrestler had the great opportunity and privilege to train with the infamous Stu Hart. He made his pro wrestling debut at age 19 in 1990. Jericho used his wrestling moves that he learned in Canada, Mexico and Japan and applied it in the WWE. He slowly built a following what would become loyal "Jerichoholics" in the WWE.
1999 was a big year for Jericho. Not only did he get the chance to rise to new heights of stardom, but he also made a huge impact on WWE fans with his Y2J millennium countdown and in his debut in a verbal sparring session with the Rock. That classic moment on Raw would set the stage for the wrestler's WWE career. Many WWE fans tuned in every week to see Y2J build on his rivalries with The Rock, Triple H, Christian, Chyna, Stephanie McMahon, and Rob Van Dam. These matches were legendary for their in-ring intensity as well as comic vignettes outside the ring.

Y2J cemented his place in WWE history at Vengeance on December 9, 2001. In that match, the wrestler defeated the Rock for the WCW Championship and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin for the WWE Championship and united both titles to become the first undisputed champion. Three months later, Jericho lost his title to Triple H in WrestleMania. Wrestling wasn't Jericho's only passion. He's released three albums with his rock band Fozzy. Just like the WWE Hall of Famer "Roddy" Roddy Piper, Y2J also held a weekly TV segment on WWE programming titled "The Highlight Reel," where he not only interviewed guests, but also antagonized them.
Jericho has taken on numerous projects. He pursued an acting career, continued touring with Fozzy, and hosted a VH1 special called "Best Week Ever and I Love the '80s." The wrestler has also hosted his own show, "The Rock of Jericho," on XM Satellite Radio and he recently released his biography, A Lion's Tale: Around the World in Spandex. But the multitalented Jericho has not given up his day job. He cannot get enough of the squared circle and since his return to Smackdown; Y2J has expressed his frustration for not getting a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. He's even gone as far as calling his treatment a "conspiracy." To this day, the disgruntled wrestler expresses his displeasure by trash-talking other prominent WWE superstars whenever and wherever he gets the chance.
