Stop Anxiety Attacks - 3 Tricks to Kick the Panic to the Curb

Stopping an anxiety attack is not an easy thing to do. Once you feel the rush of adrenaline and the anxiety starts to set in, it can cause a dreadful feeling in you. This can leave you feeling almost paralyzed and sometimes, you may not even know why. Anyone that has suffered from an anxiety attack knows that they do not want to feel this way EVER again.

Can you stop anxiety attacks from happening or is it something that you just have to learn to deal with?

For most people, there is a lot of hope in being able to stop your anxiety attacks. There are many things that you can do that will ease your mind and quell a panic attack or at least make it so that it does not seem like such an awful experience.

Here are a few methods to stop panic attacks that maybe useful to you:

1. Yoga/meditation.

For some people, taking up the practice of meditation or yoga can help to ease anxiety. When you learn both yoga and meditation, you learn breathing techniques that naturally calm the mind and the body and this can be a good thing to know when you suffer from having bouts of anxiety from time to time. The one drawback is that it usually takes some time before these practices have a profound effect on your symptoms.

2. Eliminating stimulants to your nervous system.

Everyday in our diets and our activities, we take in stimulants that wake us up and make us feel a little more energized and refreshed. The thing is, for someone that suffers from panic or anxiety attacks, these stimulants can be a catalyst and actually bring on what you do not want to happen. For example, if you are already feeling a bout coming on and you have a cup of coffee, you can be pretty sure that the effects are going to kick in and it will be worse than usual.

3. Weed out emotional stress.

These bouts can come on as a result of emotional stress, when the body's natural fight or flight response kicks in. In the case of having these kinds of attacks of anxiety, the flight is what you are feeling. Being able to cut down on emotional stress can be a way to get rid of your attacks and maintain a more calm demeanor. Jobs, bills, and medical issues can all trigger a panic attack and you want to make sure that you are able to cut down on the probability of this happening.
