Multifunction printer HP Photosmart C4100 is a thermal inkjet printer. It takes care of most of the printing needs, copying and scanning. It is compact in design and weighs less for portability.
The paper tray is designed well for regular every day use. It has two feed in trays, one for paper and the other for photographic media. The input tray can hold up to 100 sheets and the output tray can hold up to 50 sheets. The photographic paper is fed automatically if photos are printed. The printer can print on one side of the paper only and it does not provide support for two sides printing. This is a non-feature that can put the company out of business easily.
It provides borderless photographic prints equivalent to lab quality up to 8.5 inches by 24 inches, panorama size. The printer is suitable for most of the general printing needs like documents, labels photographs, brochures, greeting cards and envelopes. The printer can be fed various stocks like envelopes, transparencies, labels, cards, HP's premium media, iron-on transfers, borderless media and panorama.
Cartridges made with special technology make professional quality prints which do not fade and last for longer duration. Color cartridge makes good photo and chart prints with finer colors. HP 300 ink cartridge with pigment based dye delivers crisp and dark black text prints. Ink cartridges take more ink and increase the cost of prints.
The flatbed scanner provides images exactly like the original with resolution of up to 2400 dots per inch. It provides scanned images up to the size of 8.5 inches by 11.7 inches.
