1. Traditional Thai Massage
Not only is it therapeutic to the Thais, a traditional massage offers many beneficial health for the body and mind. These types of establishments do not offer sexual services as most would think. Though I wouldn't count out the fact that some would, especially near the red light districts or near a hotel. One way to know for sure if an establishment offers some sort of sex service is when they hand you a towel and request you strip off your clothing.
2. Oily Massage
It's exactly what it sounds like. A masseuse, usually a female, though there are gay massage parlors as well, will lather your whole body up with oil. Of course this type of service requires you to be naked, save for a towel around your waist, is a pleasurable experience. The majority of these establishments are located near the red light districts of Nana, Soi Cowboy and Patpong. Customers will be handed a photo album showing the ladies employed so that they can pick and choose who they want their massage services from. You will usually find a type of service called "balls massage" in these establishments.
3. Soapy Massage
Paying a visit to a soapy massage parlor is as surreal as it gets. These establishments are quite large and fancy. For a newbie it can be quite intimidating. Inside you'll find ladies either inside a brightly lit enclosed sitting area behind glass (called a fishbowl) or sitting on lounge chairs (called side-liners).
All massage parlors usually have staff who speak multiple foreign languages, especially English. And sometimes their are signs in English and Japanese that shows all of the different services offered along with the price rates.
Overall massages in Bangkok are very affordable and reasonable. If you ever come to Bangkok at all be sure not to miss them.
