It is ironic, yet disturbing to me, that an industry named "network marketing" or "multi level marketing" is the one industry with the most outdated and ineffective Marketing strategy in existence! How can this be?
The two most important aspects to the success of any business are: 1) they have to provide a decent product or service that answers a question or solves a problem for the customer, and 2) they have to have an effective strategy to market it, Right? If either one of these variables is not up to par, the business will likely suffer.
Additionally, marketing and advertising is usually one of the first things a company looks at, if their earnings are down. So why is the MLM industry 10 years behind the curve on this? It seems like there is a newer, better, ground floor opportunity popping up every day, but every last one of them recommends the the same old worn out "COI" or circle of influence techniques as the one and only strategy for associates to build their businesses; I just don't get it.
Seems a lot like Einstein's definition of insanity to me! This is what led me to the internet looking for alternatives, I knew that the 3% having incredible success, were not carpooling with their prospects to a hotel meeting to build their businesses. My question was, what are these people doing, and where can I learn the same things?
Well, suffice to say that the internet holds the answers, or at least many of them. Discovering that I could build my business without stalking my friends was a welcome relief, let me tell you!
As I said previously, for a business to grow effectively, it has to be providing a legitimate solution. So it stands to reason that in order to grow a successful network marketing business, we must be providing a solution to others, and that solution is a legitimate marketing platform that each new member can plug into and achieve results with (eg. make some money). The solution is NOT the latest lotion, potion or pill (well it is to some, but those are customers, not business builders)!
In summary, for most MLM entrepreneurs significant success will only come when there is the right combination of product and marketing, and thanks to the world wide web, that combo is available right now, and I can tell you that it works marvelously!
