Don't Wait Until It's Too Late!
Don't Wait Until It's Too Late!

The bad economy came to Las Vegas and it stayed in Las Vegas, much too long, according to just about every Las Vegas bankruptcy attorney. Most every Las Vegas bankruptcy attorney has seen many more people coming in the doors seeking help with reorganizing their personal finances than last year. And the year is still young! The average Las Vegas bankruptcy attorney is seeing a wave of people early in this new year, many of whom have waited until after the holidays to address their sinking situation. The good news is that their trip to the attorney will probably be their fist step in getting back on solid financial footing. They many not even realize that, but it is true. Often, people wait until too late to seek out professional help with their failing finances. It is akin to not addressing chest pain and waiting for the heart attack. Too many times it is fatal if help is not sought quickly. So, too, can neglecting your financial health lead to a code red ink of finances. Finding an attorney is easy. Finding one who can work with you closely to get back to financial health is a little harder. It is not impossible, though. You must do a little homework, though, because most every attorney will be a good advocate for you, but only a select few will connect with you and with what your goals and dreams for the future may entail. Check with friends and relatives. You will be surprised by how many have had to seek help in reorganizing their finances. If they cannot supply you with a qualified name or two, then search the Internet. Most attorneys will have detailed information on their web sites about their services and specialty areas. Not too trustful of the Internet for such personal matters? Then seek out a local community organization or even a church organization. Attorneys are often on file there or are members and will be willing to look at your case. Once you have a lawyer on retainer, then take some time and organize your thoughts. Have a plan. Do not go in cold. Remember, only you can be your best advocate. Your attorney will work with you for the best results, but they are not mind readers. They do not know what your goals and dreams are for the future. And there is a future, too. Reorganizing your finances is the first step in that future. Your attorney may tell you that you should file Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy. Chapter 7 will have you selling off your assets and repaying those you owe. Chapter 13 will have you setting up a schedule to pay creditors and keeping some assets. You may be able to avoid the court all together and work out a private repayment plan. No matter what your choice, it will stop the harassing phone calls and start you on the way to a better financial future.
