There was a time when having a bath was a far from pleasurable experience. When I was a boy, there was no such thing as central heating in our house. This meant two things.
First, the house in general was very cold in the winter. No room was what you would call warm. Even if we had a bathroom, which we didn't, it would've been as cold as every other room in the house!
The second consequence of our lack of central heating is that we had to have our baths in the kitchen. The reason for this was that the kitchen housed the gas cooker, and the heat from the oven and the gas rings helped to make the kitchen the least cold room in the house. The bath tub was part filled with cold water, and then topped up with hot water from pans and kettle.
The other advantage of bathing in the kitchen was that we could drape our towel over the cooker so that it might warm up before we needed to use it to dry ourselves.
Nowadays, of course, it is very different. Bathing can be a lovely relaxing experience. We have sufficient hot water and we can top up the bath whenever we need to. Plus there is usually a radiator in the bathroom on which to drape your towel so that it keeps nice and warm ready for when you need it.
The bathroom accessory which I thoroughly recommend is a telescopic radiator towel rail. You can adjust the rail so that it exactly fits your bathroom or shower room radiator.
There are several styles of radiator towel rails available. There is a nice range in CaraselleDirect's UK eBay Shop. They're priced to sell and come with free delivery. Click Here.
