Atlantic Toyota Learns Huntington Toyota Gives Back to the Community

Atlantic Toyota may enjoy hearing stories of dealerships giving back to the community. One dealership that has given back to the community is Huntington Toyota, a nearby neighbor of Atlantic Toyota.

Huntington Toyota is taking part in a program that provides food and services to shelters, soup kitchens, food pantries and the like. The program has helped out over 550 of these community-based agencies.

Hunger is a serious problem in Long Island, and some customers who shop at Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota are aware of the issue. Both the young and the elderly are suffering from hunger and Huntington Toyota wants to do all it can to help.

All customers who want to help out can bring donations to the Huntington Toyota dealership. Examples of items that are needed include cereal, milk, juice, peanut butter and jelly. Customers can also donate snack items such as cookies, crackers, granola, jell-o, pudding and cake mix. Canned fish, meat, vegetables and fruit are also very much welcome.

Toyota shoppers are also invited to donate non-food items to the program such as first aid kits, personal care and baby care products, school supplies, new toys, pet food and even supplies for birthday parties.

As of last year, the program has distributed approximately 5 million servings of food to the hungrywhich is more than 5 million pounds worth of food. Huntington Toyota aims to significantly contribute to that amount this 2010. The whole Huntington Toyota team is doing their best to reach out and collect as many items as they can for the program.
