This week Cher's confident performance, a mixture of No Diggity, by Blackstreet, and Tears for Fears' Shout, allowed her to Waltz through to the next round with ease.
Cher handled the production and staging this week of her performance with ease as she strutted and danced around the stage adding in her own style of attitude and swagger. Afterwards Simon Cowell said: "I can only tell you Cher it did not feel like you were someone taking part in a competition. It felt like you were someone who had had five hit records and just came back with your new single."
Cher (17) who use to attend Dyson Perrins High School in Malvern, Worcestershire, is a very determined young girl wanting desperately to silence her critics. Her response to Danni Minogue's criticism the previous week was "okay, look what I can do now." She came back this week to increase the high standard already previously set and listened with pride when afterwards Danni critiqued her "guilty pleasure" performance by saying "This really felt like this is what you would do at your concert. The staging was absolutely mind-blowing. I love the way you look and - as a last note - you sang it really well."
Cher's family were also delighted with her performance, they had travelled from their home in Worcestershire to support her. Dad Darren Lloyd said "We thought it was the best so far" and was quick to remind people that Cher still needs votes to stay in the competition.
The X factor competition this year is proving to be of a very high standard with very strong contestants. Cher Lloyd from Malvern is Worcestershire's chance to produce a Star, but regardless of who wins, all the X factor finalists will be heading to Worcester in the coming weeks. Tramps Nightclub in Worcester is the place to be on a Monday night from now until before Christmas if you are a fan of X factor. A week after the finalists leave the show they will be performing live in Worcester.
