Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota is celebrating the 10th birthday of their ground-breaking hybrid, the Prius, by releasing a new limited edition model. Named the Prius Generation X, the brand new unit is based on the range-topping Prius T-Spirit and will be priced from 26,150.
The Prius Generation X isn't short on features, sporting 17-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass and embossed black leather upholstery to increase its visual appeal. Additionally, HDD satellite navigation, Bluetooth, Intelligent Park Assist and cruise control are all available to make driving even easier and more entertaining. The model will be available only in Astral Black or White Pearl.
Despite all this modification, the Prius' economy figures are still excellent, remaining at 70.6mpg and 92g/km of Co2. It's every bit as environmentally friendly as the other Prius trims, making it just as easy on your wallet. One thousand of the models will be made, with the first cars being delivered to customers this winter.
The Prius originally went on sale in Japan and was subsequently introduced across Europe and America. It was the first mass-produced hybrid car on the global market, being sold in over 70 countries. To date, there have been around 2 million units sold worldwide. Renowned for its advanced technology, such as the solar powered roof that regulates inside temperature, and its outstanding reliability, the Prius has become one of the most iconic cars of the 21st century.
