subject: Promoting Your Business With Promotional Seminars [print this page]

There are many ways to further your business and promote it to the general public. One really great idea is one that is often overlooked by businesses. That is holding community seminars to get people interested in your business. You will want to offer these seminars at a reduced fee or even for free to help get the community interested in what you have to say.

The seminars can be on any topic but in some way need to relate to your business. You need the community to view you and your partners as leaders in your field, particular topic or subject matter. This will really help build a respect for your industry and an authority in the community.

You may not be a good candidate for public speaking maybe you don't like crowds or don't have a voice that projects well. Congratulations you just like most of us. But don't let that stop you, there are people that do this for a living. Invite a guest lecturer to come and speak on a specific topic or encourage some enthusiastic employees to speak to the group on one of the topics or services they are passionate about.

Some very popular topics for seminars relate to topics such as saving money, investing, budgeting, eating for health, a fit life, child rearing, living a greener life, stress management, energy conservation or pretty much any topic that people can use to better their daily lives. In general it is a good idea to make these topics relate generally back to your business in some manner, but usually tying your business into a topic will not be difficult.

Don't forget to advertise your business during the seminar, try not to oversell yourself and you want to make sure to introduce you as the owner and the name and titles of your staff. Professional posters or signage about your business is a must to communicate your message to the public. Also promotional pens, note pads or seminar package for people to use for taking notes and to take with them after the seminar. Printed material on the topic will be helpful and always provide brochures, cards, coupons and any other contact information that pertains to your products and services. Keep it light hearted, entertaining and educational. Water bottles with your logo are always well received and really appreciated.
