Don't quote me on this, but I strongly believe it's because they (the government) is not really willing or ready to help move away from oil. I've seen this theme across the country, and as I have expanded my involvement in this subject matter, I've realized that it crosses borders; I see these issues in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and, of course, here in the USA. The world is still stuck on oil, and honestly, it's nearly impossible for the average joe' to just unplug from the grid and detach oneself from using oil.
Therefore, I've taken a clean and new approach to the problem which is contained in a few EASY steps.
First you need to perform a Home Energy Audit. This will determine where you are losing energy (and money!) in your home.

Second, you need to find out what improvements can be made easily on your own without hiring expensive workers from
electricians, to plumbers, and even carpenters.
Third, you must identify what improvements are eligible for a rebate/discount/credit from the government whether it be your local, regional, or Federal government.
Finally, once you have completed these steps, you may find that there aren't rebates available to you. This is where my personal belief comes in which is that you need to forget the government' and make the changes yourself. In the end the savings can still be SIGNIFICANT with or without the government assistance.
Now I know you're probably reading these 4 simple' steps and thinking, "Ok Chris, that's all well and good, but it's really easier said than done to identify improvements' perform a Home Energy Audit' and file for rebates'."
