The Samsung Wave-A New Handset for 2010

Samsung have a tradition of producing great quality, high end mobile handsets, yet with the release of their new model, The Wave, they seem to have surpassed themselves.

Boasting a wide array of features, the Samsung Wave certainly compares favourably with other smartphones currently available. Moving away from the favoured Symbian and Android operating systems, Samsung have taken the brave move to launch this handset with their own Bada operating system. It is a gamble that seems to have paid off for the manufacturers. Operating alongside the user friendly TouchWiz interface, the phone performs very well. Samsungs own app store is growing by the day, thanks to Bada being very programmer friendly. The interface also offers some very nice touches. For example, when the phone is locked, if you have received a text or missed a call, a jigsaw piece appears on the screen which can simply be dragged to its correct position to not only open the phone, but directly access the information you require. The Waves phonebook also supports social network integration. This allows the phonebook not only to display the expected information, but also status updates from the likes of Twitter and Facebook, recently posted items and a history of all interaction between yourself and that person.

Measuring 118 x 56 x 10.9mm and weighing just 116 grammes, the Samsung Wave is undoubtedly a great looking handset with nice metallic touches on the fascia and generally sleek lines and curved edges. A superb quality screen is incorporated in the unit. This display is 3.3" and boasts and incredible 480 x 800 resolution and a capability of displaying in excess of 16 million colours. The screen is Super AMOLED technology, resulting in a clearer and more responsive screen with better viewing angles and legibility in bright conditions. The screen is multi touch and is a capacitive touchscreen. A look around the handset and you will find a micro USB port for easy connection to your own computer as well as the hallowed 3.5mm headphone jack socket, opening the doors for a wide array of headphones to be used with the Wave. The camera facility on the phone not only captures great quality photographs, but also video footage in 720P high definition. The Samsung Wave is a handset that impresses immensely.

From the Super AMOLED screen to the impressive TouchWiz user interface, everything about this phone not only screams functionality but also style. Media fans will appreciate its HD facilities and social networks lovers can always be in touch thank to great connectivity.
