Learning to drive and taking your driving test are nervous times for the best of us, and nerves can sometimes cause us to make mistakes that we wouldn't normally make.
Imagine the embarrassment of one teenager in Pittsburgh, who was driving back to the test centre after passing his driving test. All ready to take the learner plates off his vehicle and celebrate his new licence, he lost control of the car and careered into the test centre while attempting to drop the examiner back at the office.
The car broke through the door of the centre and injured three people. Witnesses described the car come crashing through the door and grinding to a halt in the middle of the room. Nick Martin, who was waiting to take his test at the time, said to the Pittsburgh tribune, The boy was sitting in the car saying, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it,"' slightly worrying to witness this turn of events just before you are about to sit your test!
A local who worked next door at the Dollar Bank Loan Centre said I actually thought someone had dropped off the roof,' he said.
'The driver kept saying "I hit those people. I hit those people. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Are they all alright?" He was beside himself'.
Police say that the young driver had thought the automatic vehicle was in park, when actually it was in drive, and therefore he sent it crashing through the building.
