I bought this year for sale for $ 75 in the spring of '09 and it was great so far. Keep well and post strong enough for my projects. That said, since the price is $ 129 more than pay for this type of drill, but if you can get on sale, as I did this is a great workout easier.

Jumps out of gear.
I thought the drill was great when I bought it last winter.
It was light weight and the battery lasted a long time.
But, I tried to drive a couple of screws into my deck this spring and the drill kept jumping out of gear. I had to mail it in for warranty (which cost me another $10)

I am very pleased with this drill driver. It is relatively light weight and yet fairly powerful. I especially like the feature that allows one to see whether or not the battery is charged.

Not bad for a lithum ion drill driver
I also purchased it at Loews after reading the previous reviewers tip. Yes, $40. The only drawback on this drill is that it does not have a replaceable battery, but with Lithum ion battery I don't expect it to fail anytime soon like NiCad. With a two year warranty, I think that is fine. It has two speed settings which is easy to set. Also a push thru button if you want the drill to go reverse direction. The weight is not bad, feels balanced and the charging stand is pretty decent for sitting the drill in. You also get drill bits and screw bits (slot and philips) that you can stand up on a slot on the charger in the back. I like the power and is perfect for home owner usage. There is also on top of the drill a power indicator which you can push and see how much power is left in your drill via 3 green lights. So far so good. No other complaints. I like it and is a step above the old versapak screwdriver that I still use and have. So for me, its a great combination.

I just got one for $40 at Loew's, it was on sale. I got it for a spare and the price was right. Normally priced was $79.99
There is one thing I did notice that the other reviewer said:
There is not a "soft start low, low, variable speed" feature. The drill starts off at a higher "RPM" speed then expected. So you may think the drill is defective, but that's what is does. Overall it's a sharp looking drill, compact, and well balanced to hold. I would give it a 5 start rating, but because what I just wrote, 4 1/2.

Lots Of Power But...
The B&D SC1400 has TONS of power, but doesn't run slow enough RPM's for properly starting screws. I replaced the first thinking there was something wrong with the trigger, and the second was the same way. All cordless drills I've had can be run so slowly they barely turn, this takes off too fast. Getting a replacement from B&D and hopefully it was two defective triggers.
