Bags of bags

It used to be that anyone who went shopping would have their own shopping bag specifically for that purpose, but the invention of the plastic carrier bag was pretty much the death knell of the shopping bag. The plastic carrier bag had the advantage of being lighter and less bulky than a bag and impervious to rain, unlike the paper carrier bag, so it was bound to prove popular. These days every retailer will pack their goods into a plastic carrier bag for the convenience of their customers and it is completely taken for granted that this will happen.

However, as we become more environmentally aware lots of people are starting to use reusable bags, usually made from hessian or cotton and available in supermarkets. We may even see the reappearance of the trusty shopping bag on the high street in the next few years, but the plastic carrier will never go out of fashion completely. Our shopping habits have changed; whereas all our shopping used to be meticulously planned each day, today's shopper will generally do a big shop once a week or once a month and pick up perishable items such as milk and bread when needed. As a consequence, the reusable bag is not always to hand when they pop into a shop in passing; the carrier bag is still and will always be an integral part of shopping.

Here at Morplan we sell all manner of plastic bags in a vast choice of sizes and strengths as our customers have very varied requirements. Some choose to have the bags printed so that every shopper becomes a walking advertisement for the shop and some simply want the most cost efficient option - it all depends on the products that are being sold. If you need any advice on which of our products would suit your business we are always happy to help.
