The Actual Most Challenging Big Ten Games On The Penn State Nittany Lions Football Schedule

The actual Penn State football team experienced high hopes for 2010. Whilst they did not expect this to become a stellar year in the Big Ten, they did start out ranked, and expected to at least contend in the Big Ten. Additionally they had a large out of conference match-up with Alabama which supplied lots of pre-season excitement.

Unfortunately, the growing season hasn't gone as expected. Several losses and a team that's battling make upcoming games with Michigan, Ohio State, and Michigan State all look daunting. Penn State vs Michigan football tickets will still be tough to obtain as the Nittany Lions has a loyal group of followers, but there's lots of anxiousness over if the group will actually have a winning record this season or reach a bowl game.

But which games upcoming would be the hardest? With the way the group has performed so far, no Big Ten games are going to be easy, and you can expect the actual Nittany Lions to become large underdogs in a number of games. Games that at the start of the year were expected to become relatively simple, or at least easier, are real hurdles.

The actual most difficult game for Penn State is without a doubt the Ohio State game in Columbus. The Buckeyes happen to be ranked #1 in college football, and with the game on the road, Penn State will be a several touchdown underdog. Penn State has struggled in order to beat Ohio State on the road within good years, so this year it will be especially tough.

The 2nd hardest game in my opinion may be the Michigan State game. Michigan State happens to be a Penn State nemesis, a team which always has their number, and additionally they happen to be actively playing well this year. It's the final home game of the season, and Penn State vs Michigan State tickets will still be within demand, but the Spartans will probably have more to play for than PSU at that point. What this means is a far more motivated opponent.

Then there are games versus Michigan and Northwestern. These are teams that much like Michigan State, usually appears to give PSU problems. Whilst Michigan has struggled in recent years, they're surging once again this year. Northwestern has started the season very strong and are having a better than typical year. With Northwestern surging, this means the increase in demand for tickets within their fan base, therefore again Penn State vs Northwestern tickets will be similarly difficult to obtain.

The game Penn State probably feels most comfortable about is the game vs Indiana, which this year is being performed at FedEx field in Landover, Md. This really is supposedly a neutral site, but most likely is going to be packed with Penn State enthusiasts. Indiana has a good offense, but I would expect the excitement and energy of a 90,000 strong crowd to carry the Nittany Lions, however who knows.

It's going to be a long difficult road within the Big Ten for Penn State the remainder of 2010.
