Some Important Truths I Discovered While Blogging

There are two ways to learn new things. First, we read, listen, and take some notes just like we did at school. Somewhere along the way, we encountered stuff we believed we will not probably remember later in life, but we kept on learning because we were required to. We term this passive learning.

Then there's active learning, the type a lot of people prefer because it gets you involved. You choose to learn about the things you're interested in or at times, you're forced to learn because you need the input badly. Most people love active learning because one can select the things he wants to learn about, and not because he merely needs to pass the subject. Learning then becomes both educational and pleasant, which is how we all dreamt learning at school was.

What separates passive from active learning is that passive learning has the tendency to get boring over time while the contrary would be the case for active learning. With active learning, you unearth new and interesting things as you learn your way through the area under discussion. There even comes a time when you desire to learn more than what is available at a specific time. Just like blogging.

Some years back, the term "blogging" was quite strange to to the average Joe. But because needs of the time opened a new path of information, most of us just had to discover what blogging was all about. Well as I found my way through blogging, I've come to understand that there were so many points about it that I could not have discovered without actually doing them. Below are a few points about blogging that you may find useful:

You need to make unique posts. There are millions of bloggers in the entire cyberspace and a lot of them are purely blogging to get the market's awareness. Great blog content will lure attention, but many good blog writers primarily did not have that in mind - they simply wrote to give readers some informational value that can be valuable. All the attention to their blog simply followed because people enjoyed what they were getting. And they gave value in their personal way, from their own experiences, and not from somebody else's. Make your posts distinctively UNIQUE -people like reading unique content. Put some humor into it, too - your readers are people, and they love to be entertained.

To be a success at blogging, you have to enjoy writing. I'm quite thankful that I enjoy doing all the writing now. But let me tell you something very important. I wasn't born a writer but discovered that writing can be enjoyable when I began to put in some comments into other blogs or forum posts. Writing became a lot easier especially when the authors exchanged more ideas and other people put in some more thoughts. The truth is, writing is really a lot like like something we all love to do - TALK. Only put down in text form. When you approach writing that way, the words will easily flow. Another good option is to do video blogging, which is actually the hot thing to do nowadays.

Pick up traffic from various sources. Don't count entirely on your blog to bring in the traffic for you. Take advantage of the brilliant world of social networking and link up to Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Digg, etc. Make your blog interactive, so your visitors and members get involved.

Blogging will bring you in contact with a lot of fantastic people. I've discovered so much about blogging and other internet stuff from so many fantastic people I've met online. I've formed partnerships and affiliations witha few of of them, and everything simply began with blogging. Don't restrain yourself to blog commenting - there are so many ways to do it online and offline. Write to them or meet up with them if they're coming to town arises. If you travel a lot, sit down with them for a cup of coffee when you're in town. Who knows, you might find a great business partner later on!

In a matter of time, it will pick up. And when it does, there's no way other way to go but UP! Like every lucrative endeavor, you need to do a lot of work at the onset. Just stick to delivering value to your audience, and the opportunities will just trickle in. In due course, the small things will grow to bigger things.. For some it takes just some months, for others it can take years. You just have to persist and be tough, and you will get there. The most important thing about blogging is to keep the faith.
